A new species of pest fruit fly (Diptera: Tephritidae: Dacinae) from Sri Lanka and Africa

A new species of Dacinae, Bactrocera (Bactrocera) invadens sp.n., from Sri Lanka and Africa, is described and illustrated. This is a pest species that has recently been introduced into eastern Africa and has subsequently made a rapid expansion across tropical Africa. Known
distribution and host records are also presented.
